Christmas Travels

We spent Christmas in Virginia with the Jensens. Santa was very good to us this year. We had a lot of fun with the family. Thanks to Ellen's hard work, we made gingerbread houses from scratch. Owen went "green" with his house and I wasn't allowed to help him add any other color. Scott helped the kids build a snowman and snow engine. We did a lot of good eating and playing games (thanks Kristin and Dave for "Curses", it was pretty funny playing and we can't wait to play it with you guys sometime). We also got to go swimming at South Run and Ruby especially did not want to leave.

On the drive to Virginia we stopped at the Choo Choo Barn in Strasburg PA and then again at the Washington D.C. temple to see the beautiful lights and nativities from around the world. Before going home, we spent a day at Mt. Vernon, the home of George Washington. What a great and humble first president this country had. It was incredibly cold, but we were able to tour the mansion, see the camel just like Washington had at Christmas there, and see the gingerbread house replica of Mt. Vernon made by former white house chef. It was just a little better than the ones we made!
