New York City

For my 30th birthday Scott took me to New York City. It was a quick trip, but we did a lot. We went to the Apollo Theater to see Bonnie Prince Billy perform. We stayed at the Excelsior hotel, went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Carnegie Deli and the LDS Manhattan Temple. We took a cab and did a lot of walking through Central Park. Scott was superb at finding parking on the street and we never had to pay. Bonnie Prince Billy was a great show and our second time at the Apollo theater, which is very cool. The museum was beautiful and overwhelming with so much to see. It had a special exhibit about fashion that I enjoyed. Carnegie Deli was fun and fast. They rush you in and out, seat you next to strangers and serve you huge sandwiches, pickles and pie (we shared the 5th Avenue). The temple was easy to find and a perfect peace from the bustle around it. It was a wonderful birthday!

  2. Happy 30th! I hope you got my (belated) e-card...I'm getting cheap & lazy! I'm glad you got away, even if it was a quick trip. New York was fun when we went a few years ago, but way too cold for us. It would be good to go again sometime when it's warmer!
