It turns out that Scott and I are six generation cousins. Our mothers are fifth generation cousins through the Leavitt family, who settled Hingham, MA. Scott was in Hingham for work one day, so on his lunch he visited the Old Ship Church and Leavitt family memorial. John Leavitt was the first deacon of the Old Ship Church, built in 1681.
I guess six generations is far enough apart. That must be why people think I look so much like the Jensen family. Technically you can marry your second cousin, but that's a little too close for my taste. Otherwise, Ruby met a few potential husbands on our trip to Washington last week.
It definitely could be worse Beth. What if Scott was a long lost brother?
