This is long overdue, but Christmas is such a big event that it can't be skipped. Ruby has been asking me lately when we will have Christmas again.
This year was our very first Christmas in our own house. It was nice not having to load up the car with wrapped gifts, just to turn around and come home with the same gifts unwrapped and then some. Our car is getting too full of kids to make room for presents. It was nice to sleep in our own beds and have the baby sleep through the night because she was comfortable and happy in her own surroundings. We decorated our own tree, and even put some lights outside. I made Christmas candy and we decorated cookies.
I think I would've enjoyed these things even more, but I got strep throat for Christmas! I don't know who it was worse for, me or Scott. I was running a fever of 104, miserable and spent the day of Christmas Eve in the emergency room. Scott had to deal with taking care of super excited children, Christmas Eve (parents, you know what I'm talking about) as well as meals. He made a wonderful fish and chips for Christmas Eve and we moved our traditional Park Christmas meal of fondue to Christmas day. I was feeling a little better by then so I was helpful in the kitchen. The fish and chips were so good, that might be our new tradition.
We did visit family after Christmas, which I very much enjoy. We had our traditional talent show, played games, and enjoyed wonderful meals.
