Parks come to Play

My parents returned from their 18-month LDS mission in Ukraine. After spending Christmas at home, they traveled to Arizona, Utah, Idaho and finally Connecticut to visit their eight children and 22 grandchildren. It was so nice to have them with us for a long visit.

I can't believe it, but I got sick again while they were with us. I joked with my Mom that since she was so sad to miss taking care of me after I had Violet, she gets to take care of me now. It was wonderful to have her cooking and doing dishes (a never ending job). Ruby was so happy to have someone make beautiful paper dolls with her and play princesses. The boys had so much fun playing Legos with Grandpa and getting out Scott's HO scale trains. It is Owen's new obsession and the only thing he wants for his birthday. Now we have to figure out where to put a train layout. Violet took a few days, but she allowed my parents to look at her and sometimes hold her. Scott and I even got a date night. We went to see Jeff Mangum perform in New Haven.

We look forward to seeing you again soon, Mom and Dad. The kids miss you already.
