Bethany's Reunion

About a week after Scott's Reunion, we had a reunion for my side of the family in Heber City, Utah. We were just as bad about taking pictures.

We had a couple of days before the reunion to see friends and family and visit the sites. We went to Temple Square and the LDS Church History Museum in Salt Lake City. The museum has an interactive area for kids to play and dress up, which they enjoyed, especially because it was inside and out of the heat. Walking around the temple grounds, the kids kept wanting to go to all the water fountains, even though we repeatedly told them they were not for swimming.

We also spent a little time on BYU campus. It has changed a lot since Scott and I were students there. We went to the BYU Bookstore and got chocolate covered cinnamon bears. Ruby didn't like them because of course she doesn't like chocolate (that was news to me!).

We drove around a little to show the kids the places we used to live, especially our little house (which looked exactly the same) where we brought Sam home as a little baby and Owen, too. The house I lived in with five other girls and where I first met Scott playing guitar with his band was no longer there. It had been demolished to make way for new apartment complexes. Also, the building I worked in as administrative assistant for the School of Social Work was gone and a new gigantic building is being built.

The family had a great time at Lagoon Amusement and Water Park. A favorite of Scott's. It took Ruby and Violet a little bit to warm up to riding rides, but they had a whole area of small rides that the girls finally rode. Scott took the boys around on the big roller coasters. Ruby's favorite part was probably seeing the live animals while on the train ride and following the wild peacocks around in Pioneer Village.

Here is the group at the reunion. We had 41 people sleeping comfortably in this giant lodge. The cousins had so much fun playing together and the adults even got a chance to visit (especially after kids went to bed).

We had a "Minute To Win It" game, family trivia and a guess the baby picture game. I was so excited to win the baby picture game (and also to have my team tie for 1st for "minute to win it" and our family came in 2nd to my parents on family trivia, I can get a little competitive!) I think I had an edge because I was one of the few who knew Scott's baby picture. It seemed to throw a lot of people off. My nephew Brandon pointed to Scott's baby picture and was certain it was Aunt Angela. I told him it wasn't and he said, "well I know it's a girl, at least."
