Pine Wood Derby

This year was Owen's first pine wood derby and Sam's last. The previous years Sam has been very close to winning the over all race. He has placed first for his rank, but not for the whole derby and  this year he competed against his own brother.

The boys had very different car designs. Owen designed a silver rocket and Sam crafted a purple unicorn. It was very exciting for the heats when they were partnered against each other. In one heat their times were identical.

Sam was thrilled to win 1st over all and Owen graciously came in 2nd. He decided that it was nice he could let his brother win, since he still has more derby's to compete in.
